Puppet Theatre Barge

For a completely different kind of theatre experience, hop on board the Puppet Theatre Barge. Launched in 1982, this floating puppet theatre has 50 seats and travels along the Thames during the summer, giving performances at Henley-on-Thames, Marlow, Cliveden and Richmond upon Thames . The theatre spends the winter docked in Little Venice . To find where the boat is, check its website. Performances here are anything but typical.

London’s Portobello Road Market is one of London’s best known markets, partly as a result of featuring in a certain Notting Hill-featured film, but mostly as the market’s featured wares are so dynamic, as you move from the antiques of the Notting Hill end, the stalls change to display food such as fruit, vegetables, cheeses, crepes, meats, cakes and breads; on then to clothes, both second-hand, new and designer, when finally you find yourself looking at antique military memorabilia at Ladbroke Grove. Quite a journey.
